Concerning finding Saddam Hussein in Iraq

Oracle - September 2003

Recently on television, I watched a program which concerned where former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein might be hiding. A massive U.S led manhunt throughout Iraq has come up with no leads. The "experts" on the program speculated that they strongly believe that Saddam is no longer in Iraq. Where could he be then? Speculation ranged from Iran, to Syria, to any of the Caspian Sea countries, to Russia, to even France!

My Oracle here is that Saddam is in Iraq. Moreover, I believe that he will be found within six months ( March 2004).

Why would I make such predictions? The current situation in Iraq is getting politically a bit uncomfortable for the Bush Administration. As casualties mount and public support seems to be dropping, there seems to be a mood to try to get American troops out of Iraq. I have a suspicion that a goal therefore would be to intensify the hunt for Saddam in an effort to make cover for this overall goal. Moreover, Saddam does not have the support and sympathy that Osama bin Laden does throughout the Arab world.  He is not in the relatively safe area that bin Laden is in, geographically speaking.

As far as where he is, why would I think Saddam is still in Iraq?  If he were anywhere else, the fact that he was hiding in another country would, in my view, make for some rather uncomfortable politics in the country where Saddam would happen to be staying at.

The difficulty in making this prediction is a 4 out of 5.
